A New Year, A New You

Text: Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Introduction: Soon we will start a New Year. During this time, many will make New Year Resolutions. Lose weight, exercise more, work harder, spend more time with the family, be a better person, and a thousand more. The truth is that by the end of January most of us will have broken them. There is one thing that you can resolve to do that will last for eternity.

Make a Call: Call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Tell Him that you can’t change yourself and that you need His help. Tell Him that you are one of the sinners that He came to save. Ask Him to come live in your heart and change your life.

Rebirth: The Bible says that you are born again and made a new creature. You can’t really explain it; you just feel it and know. As a child of God the Holy Spirit will show you the truth and set you free from the cords of sin that bind you.

Welcome: As a new member of the Family of God; you will have thousands of new brothers and sisters in Christ. You will know that you have passed from Spiritual death to life because of your love for others. God is Love. Christ died for you out of Love. You are of great value to God. We have peace with God through our Savior Jesus Christ.

Conclusion: May you start out the New Year as a New You. You will have a new friend in Jesus that will never forsake you. You can go to Him any time day or night from now on. Pray, study and obey God’s Word. God loves you and left the instruction manual. Welcome friends!
