Texts: Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

Introduction: The First Advent is the four Sundays preceding Christmas. Advent means the coming or arrival of an event. Many Christian Churches observe this period by lighting a colored candle each Sunday and on the fourth Sunday, a white candle is also lit representing Christ’s arrival. Isaiah foretold of Christ’s birth in the 8th century B.C. We celebrate Advent with joy and thanksgiving to God for sending His Son. The person who says that they do not sin and do not need redemption fools themselves, step back and observe the things around us. If you accept Christ, He will give you a new way of thinking and a fresh start.
Conclusion: The Second Advent, we Christians are looking forward to with great anticipation. It will be the return of Christ into this world. John 14: 1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” Christ will return someday to set up His Kingdom. Many men throughout history have tried to predict Christ’s return, only to be disappointed. Christ will return when God’s timeline is completed. We are to occupy until He returns and spread the good news of Salvation. He will return as a thief in the night, just be ready.
