Text: Genesis 50:20 “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”
Introduction: Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, but God had other plans for this young man. How many times do evil people do God’s bidding and not even realize it? How many wicked people plot against God and work right into His Plan.
Example: A young boy is selling lemonade in front of his home hoping for a new lawn mower and a person comes by and robs him of seventeen dollars. The word goes out and Lowes brings the young boy a riding lawn mower worth twelve hundred dollars. How much lemonade would it take to be worth that much money?
“God meant this evil unto good.”
Evil Will Not Prevail: Matthew 16: 18-19 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Many times we think that the Church is losing ground and that is what the world wants us to think. They want us to retreat into the shadows while they make more candidates for hell. We are to tell everyone about Jesus and his love for mankind. In the end, Evil will not prevail, that is a promise!
What’s wrong with the Way Christians Think?
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” We are to offer peace, love, forgiveness, happiness, joy and eternal life to the world. “And we will not steal your seventeen dollars!”
