Text: Psalm 100:4 “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

Introduction: Sometimes it is very hard to give thanks; when everything around us is going wrong. As a nation we have experienced Floods, Hurricanes, and massive Wild Fires. Gun violence and drug overdoses plague our country. We see personal tragedy almost every night on the news networks.

There is Hope: 1 Corinthians 15:19 “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” If you believe that Jesus Christ was just a good man and teacher. If you do not believe that he raised from the dead. If you do not believe that he was the sacrifice for Sin and gives to us eternal life, then you are most miserable.

The Truth: Christ did not say that we would have a life of luxury if we followed him. We would be persecuted. We would have enemies. We would have tribulation. But, he said that he would go through those events with us and we would find comfort in his Word. He said that if we follow him and keep his commands that we would have eternal life in Heaven. That is our hope.

We have Each Other: Matthew 25:40 “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” We are told if someone needs help that we are to help. We can be a better witness for Christ by action and deeds than words alone.

Conclusion: No matter what you are going through, are you thankful? Do you bless God for his love, Christ for his sacrifice and the Holy Spirit for his leadership? If you need help, ask. If you are able to help, help.
